I’m in Greece! And I'm realizing I should probably (definitely) put my gap year into words. Before I procrastinate any further, I’ll at least get this down before it becomes another unfinished draft. Most of what I share will be retrospective, since I’ve perfected the art of procrastination—it’s the end of August now, and my gap year started last Christmas.
Since then, I’ve traveled to 28 countries. While each experience was educational in its own way, some stood out more than others—likely because of how different these places are compared to where I come from (Malaysia) and where I’ve been living for the past decade (Canada)—and those are the ones I’ll start with.
The last time I wrote obsessively was for my thesis; this time there’s no looming deadline or panel of very smart people judging whether I get my Master’s, so here’s hoping I can just keep writing without spiraling.
